Sumners Both
Steven and Shannon, purchased Sound Insights in 1997. At that time the main focal point of the business was rooted in high end Car Audio installations with a fledgling custom home audio department. Sound Insights had several cars that continually placed Best of Show in local and national IASCA competitions and were published in many national and international car audio magazines. In 2002, Steven developed a long range plan to bring custom home audio and automation to the forefront of the business and closed its Car Audio division soon after.
Steven and Shannon saw that high levels of service and the ability to provide clients with a valuable solution that met their requirements had been slowly disappearing from marketplace in favor of lower prices and selling for the sake of profit. Their goal was to ensure that a high level of service, craftsmanship and knowledge was achieved
and maintained and his success of that goal has propelled Sound Insights to even higher levels of satisfaction with its clients. With this philosophy ever in mind, the business grows with satisfied clients, knowledgeable and likeminded staff and the addition of carefully picked product lines.  Manufacturing Partners such as Crestron, McIntosh Audio, Definitive Technology, Speakercraft, Richard Grays Power Company, Denon, Monster Cable, Kaleidoscape and Klipsch enable Sound Insights to fulfill its core goals and provide clients with perfectly tailored, forward thinking, elegant solutions to all their electronics needs.
John Hurst
John H. Hurst - Vice President / System Design - John's considerable experience in the consumer electronics industry stretches back to the mid 1980's. After school, and during the summer months, like many others in this business, John got his start in the world of car audio, as a designer/installer, in Charlotte N.C.  It was not long before the winning of competitions and awards for design, led him to shift focus to custom residential systems.  After studying home construction with UDC homes in Charlotte, N. C, John partnered with a likeminded friend  in Charlotte to develop a custom home installation business.  The success of this venture as it morphed from a high end retail shop to a high end custom installation company caught the attention of a major corporate electronics firm. This company, with John's help, was able to tap into the custom installation business through proper technical staff training, a revenue source they had not been able to penetrate before.
John became involved with the workings at Sound Insights, Inc. while on vacation here in the Treasure Coast.  Over the course of a year of traveling back and forth, it became obvious that John was to join us permanently, here at Sound Insights, Inc.  Over the last few years, John has been instrumental in the growth Sound Insights has experienced, and in creating an atmosphere where Florida's elite can put their trust.  To quote John:  "This is an unbeatable team and I look forward to working with my partners for years to come"! While not at the office, John enjoys his family time with wife, Karen and son, John Michael.  John enjoys competitive shooting , fishing  diving and loves the Florida outdoors.  When he has time, he is known to pack up the family and head to Karen's place in Charlottesville, Va.
DeAnne Knapp - Operations Manager - Bringing more than 20 years experience to Sound Insights, Inc.  She began her electronic life in a then fledgling industry, as co-owner of a start up custom installation company in Los Angeles.  She pulled wire, designed systems, crawled in attics, and in 1987 taught herself how to program Crestron.  For personal reasons (Earthquake while pulling wire under a house) she elected to come home to Florida, where she started a Manufacturers Rep firm for Custom Electronics, effectively getting SpeakerCraft, among others on the Map in Florida. She has designed, sold, and managed systems ranging from $10,000.00 to well over $1,000,000.  Although she does not pull wire or crawl in attics anymore, she brings a holistic view to the process of designing and installing electronics systems.  She is happily married to a wonderful man, and has the world's greatest five year old.
