Speaker placement is of paramount importance in the design; environmental acoustic issues such as tiles, glass, wood floors, and furniture placement all have an effect on what speakers are chosen and where they will be placed.  The lighting in the space, artificial or natural, ambient or direct, will directly impact the screen, projector or video panel.  Is there an adjacent room that needs to be insulated from the theater? What about control? Or power conditioning? Surge Protection?  As you can see there are many many elements that go into a successful theater design.
